This set of credits and bumpers were used for the later syndicated run of "The Care Bears" which while consisting mostly of the Nelvana episodes (hence the animation style of the show), but also included the 1985 DiC episodes and the 2 Atkinson Film-Arts specials that proceeded both. I love watching the Care Bears no matter how young and old I'll get.
When I saw the care bears on the Disney channel when I was a kid.
This is my kind of commercials! Aired between the end of one of my favorite episodes of Zorro and before The Parent Trap. I’ve met Hayley Mills and her sister Juliet in person so I don’t think I even need to say how much I liked this!
I wouldn’t have thought of them showing the whole movie from start to finish without a commercial break in the middle.
The network at the time operated as a premium cable channel similar to HBO. It wasn't until 1997 that it switched to a basic cable format with commercial breaks inbetween films - and even then, the commercials weren't actual advertisements but rather promos for various Disney Channel programming and other Disney-related events (although before the switch to basic cable, there have been cable providers that have the network as part of their basic cable packages as far back as the early 1990s).
@@AndrewsMagicandMore Cool. If this movie didn't have the Buena Vista logo in the beginning, was the airing just like early US laserdisc releases where some scenes and dialogue cues were missing?

Not exactly. But I do have some more Canadian French VHS releases I plan to upload some clips.

I really wish they'd release the full special restored on blu-ray. I think most the shorts used in the special are already remastered from original film elements.

Was Never Cry Wolf on The Disney Channel a lot? I was alive but I was a little one. I feel like it was in the same type of promos as The Journey of Natty Gann. I have distinct memories of Never Cry Wolf but only because of the television promos. Does anyone recommend it? In the meantime, I'll go watch The Boy Who Could Fly.
Pretty good capture quality here of the first Touchstone movie ever made/released. :) You must have a really nice VCR xD
I'm glad you like the way it turned out. It was captured using a Panasonic PV-VS4821 4-Head S-VHS Hi-Fi VCR just bought it with my Christmas money; the capture device being used was the I-O Data GV-USB2. The USB capture device is quite expensive online, but it's definitely worth the money. The stereo audio was captured using a linear VCR since modern VCRs play the tape in mono sound.

There is another version of this release that has the Walt Disney and You promo at the end, I believe that is Version 2 if I'm not mistaken.
That is correct. However that may be a 1985 VHS reprint as those copies has the cover in a black clamshell to match the other more recent Touchstone releases at the time: _Baby - Secret of the Lost Legend_ and _Country._ Also, the warning screens on that copy have the then-regular version as opposed to the prototype version used here. On a minor note, the catalog number on the back of the cover is rendered as "(213-2)", this is the release that reads it as "(213-1)".

The way it opens with the 1984 Warner Bros. Pictures logo implies that this print might've also had the 70s Warner Communications (\\') closing logo plastered with an 80s WB shield logo, but then they plastered THAT with the 1990 Warner Bros. Animation logo.
However the version on the LTGC Vol 5 DVD had no closing logo at all; while the VHS release instead ends with an availability screen informing the at-home audiences of the other Looney Tunes home video releases at the time, plastering the 1970's Warner Communications logo at the end.
